Istanbul Antiques has its origins in an antiques business founded in Hamburg in 1999. What began as a traditional business dealing in art and antiques evolved over more than two decades into an internationally active auction house and art dealership, headquartered in Paris with locations in Hamburg and Istanbul.
Founder Eray Gül has been active in the art and antiques trade since 1999. Over the decades, he has developed extensive market expertise as well as a broad international network of collectors, dealers and specialists.
Today, the auction house is personally managed by Eray Gül as auctioneer, appraiser and art expert. His many years of experience in handling works of art and antiques from a wide range of periods and origins continue to form the foundation of Istanbul Antiques.
Discretion, reliability and the responsible handling of works entrusted to us are among the fundamental principles of our house. Each object is considered individually, carefully researched and evaluated with close attention to current developments in the international art market.
Supported by a network of art historians, restorers, experts and other specialists developed over many years, we are able to draw upon additional expertise whenever required, allowing even academically and art-historically demanding objects to be researched and assessed with the necessary depth.

Our story began in Hamburg in 1999. Over the years, the original antiques business developed into a modern, internationally oriented auction house, combining the experience and knowledge of traditional art dealing with the opportunities offered by today's global art market.
Our particular areas of focus include European paintings, works of art and selected antiques. Decades of experience with these objects enable us to consider both their art-historical significance and their position within the contemporary international market.
For us, the art trade is above all a business built on trust. Long-standing relationships with collectors, consignors and buyers are as important to us as discretion and a personal approach.
